The Slovenia Paragliding brand was born out of a love for paragliding. The founders are Matic Erbežnik and his wife Anja Jakša Erbežnik. Matic has been addicted to paragliding since 1999. For a long time he worked and managed paragliding activities in Bohinj. There, for 12 years, he drove and organised tandem paragliding flights for the company Pac Sports. Then his business path took him to Kranjska Gora. There, Matic is still co-owner of the Lačni Kekec Café, manager of the Bike Kekec cycling centre and head of the Kekec Ski School. While creating his own business, Matic realised that tandem paragliding was still deep in his heart. His wife Anja Jakša Erbežnik supported him in this, so they joined forces and founded the new brand Slovenia Paragliding. Anja is an indispensable link in the organisation of the flights and in the design and maintenance of the website. The main motive of the activity is to offer individual tandem paragliding flights, with an emphasis on a personal approach and the joy of flying.

We are different because we have found, through more than 21 years of experience, that we want to fly because we enjoy it, not because it’s our job. We have no problem saying that we are different from other tandem paragliding providers in Slovenia. We are different because we are not and do not want to be financially dependent on tandem paragliding. We have taken the privilege to fly when it suits us and we want to. Paragliding is our hobby! We are happy and proud that it is so and will remain so. We always base our approach to our customers on a personal touch. We offer quality adventures with added value. Matic Erbežnik, paraglider pilot and founder of Slovenia Paragliding

Matic has always been in love with nature and outdoor sports. The mountains are his living room, the sea his front room. He mastered skiing at the age of three and later tried flying. From the age of six to sixteen, he trained ski jumping. He can boast that he jumped over 100 m on skis, but that was not enough. He wanted to fly even further and replaced his skis with a paraglider. He has been flying since he was 15 and is one of the most experienced paraglider pilots in Slovenia. He has spent more than 4000 hours in the air. His paragliding record is 238 kilometres flown, which means he has been in the air for about 9 hours.
In addition to piloting a paraglider, Matic also knows windsurfing. During his student years he spent seven years teaching in different windsurf schools, from Croatia to Greece to Egypt. When Matic is not in the air or in the water, he can be found in the mountains, summer or winter. Mountaineering and backcountry skiing give him the energy for new ventures.
Matic graduated from the Faculty of Sport and is a professor of sport education. He never wanted to become a professor, but he enrolled at the Faculty because of its varied and interesting study programme, which was full of new challenges.
