GENERAL INFORMATION

How long is the flight?

The length of the flight depends on the altitude difference between the take-off and landing points and the weather conditions. The flight usually lasts between 15 and 30 minutes. Many flights are longer, but sometimes shorter. The intense sensations experienced by the passenger often make the flight time irrelevant to the passenger.

How long does the whole adventure take?

The adventure from the first meeting to landing usually lasts about one and a half hours. Sometimes this time can be extended to accommodate weather conditions. This does not depend entirely on the organisation but also on the nature and the weather.

What happens in case of bad weather when flying is not possible?

If the weather deteriorates and it is not possible to fly, we will work together to find a new flight date. If we cannot find a new possible date, we will refund the full amount you have paid.

How can I pay?

You can pay in cash after the flight, or by card after making an online payment in advance. If you choose to pay online, please bring your payment receipt with you on the day of your flight.

Can I fly at the same time as my friends?

It is possible to fly with friends by prior arrangement. In good conditions, three friends can fly together at the same time.

Who will be my pilot?

Your pilot will be a very experienced paraglider pilot. Slovenia Paragliding selects only the most experienced tandem paraglider pilots from Slovenia or abroad.

Are all pilots licensed?

All pilots who fly with our clients have the relevant licences required by the Republic of Slovenia.

I am afraid of heights. Is tandem flying suitable for me anyway?

Many passengers who are afraid of heights are very relaxed on a tandem paraglider flight. It is a psychological moment that an experienced pilot can turn to his advantage. So yes, tandem flying is also suitable for most people who are afraid of heights.

Is paragliding scary?

Paragliding starts from the ground on the runway. The paraglider is already open before take-off. It only takes a few steps or a short run and you are in the air. The pilot and passenger never “jump” over a precipice or into the void. As soon as the take-off process starts, the passenger already feels the force pulling him upwards. Once in the air, the passenger can talk to the pilot at all times, who can also calm him down if necessary. Paragliding is not scary and the sensations are completely different from parachuting out of an aeroplane

Is the passenger protected?

Every pilot has liability insurance. This means that if the pilot is responsible for any injuries to the passenger, the passenger is covered.

MEETING POINTS AND LANDINGS

What is an aerodrome?

A paragliding take-off area is a sufficiently steep, bare spot on a hill that is suitable for take-off. Take-off sites are marked with colourful wind bags.

What is a landing site?

A landing site is a large enough meadow or flat area suitable for a paraglider landing. Landings are marked with wind bags to show the direction of the wind.

How do I get to the take-off point?

A pilot will always take you from the meeting point to the take-off. You can get there by car, ski lift, chairlift or on foot, depending on which tandem paragliding flight you choose.

Where is the meeting point?

The meeting point is the location where you meet and get to know the pilots. It depends on which paraglider flight you have chosen. We will let you know the location of the meeting point when we arrange your tandem paraglider flight.

When do we meet at the meeting point?

We will meet you at the meeting point at the agreed time. Sometimes the timing is slightly delayed due to weather conditions. Please be patient. Paragliding is a sport that takes place outdoors, which can lead to changes.

Is it possible to park my car near the landing?

Yes, cars can mostly be parked near the landing. It depends on which flight you have chosen. Please contact us for more information.

SPECIFIC RESTRICTIONS

Are there any age restrictions?

There are no age restrictions. Anyone who can walk normally and even run slowly can fly a tandem paraglider. Children (with the permission of their parents or guardians) and the elderly can fly. The youngest passenger we have ever carried in a tandem paraglider was 4 years old and the oldest was 87 years old.

Are there any weight restrictions?

The minimum recommended passenger weight is 30 kg. There may be variations depending on weather conditions and the weight of the paraglider pilot. If the weight of the passenger is around 30 kg, please let us know in advance. The maximum weight of a passenger is 120 kg. In this case, more favourable weather conditions are needed, so we plan such flights in advance.

Are there any medical restrictions for the passenger?

It is important that you are in basic physical condition to fly a paraglider. Conditions such as pregnancy, heart disease, functional disability, etc. are not necessarily a barrier to flight. It is definitely necessary to consult and plan such flights in advance.

PERSONAL EQUIPMENT

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing a long-sleeved jumper and long trousers. If you like to be cold, you may also need some warmer clothes, depending on the season. There is nothing wrong with having some extra clothing with you, as in case of very warm weather the pilot can put it in the backpack of the parachute seat.

What shoes should I choose?

Wear shoes that protect your feet and ankles. Walking shoes or SUPERGE shoes are suitable. Inappropriate footwear is flip-flops, sandals and other lightweight shoes.

Can I wear glasses during the flight?

Yes, you can wear glasses without any problems. Sunglasses are recommended on sunny days.

Can I take photos in the air?

Your hands are free during the flight so you can carry your small camera or phone. Make sure you don’t lose it. If you lose your phone or camera, it is your responsibility. If you wish, the pilot can also take photos with his/her camera by prior arrangement. This must be arranged in advance and will incur an additional charge. At the end of the flight you will receive your own memory card with the photos. The price of the extra photos you get on the USB stick or on the MEMORY CARD is 25€.

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS

What are additional options?

Optional extras are additional services available at an extra cost. The exception is the additional option of the SUMMER YEAR OPTION, which we give to you free of charge. The different additional options you can choose from are described below.

FLYING BASICS

The additional option Flying basics is free for everyone. If you want to learn a bit more about paragliding, the pilot will take the time to tell you a lot of interesting information. In case you would like to go paragliding yourself, the pilot will give you suggestions on how to proceed.
